Workshop Description

The objective of the workshop is to learn how to use the floor effectively in movement, with an emphasis on the feet as a base and support. Participants will explore how to identify the distribution of weight and discover freedom in their movements through phrases and improvisation. Additionally, the workshop includes studying rhythm and voice to investigate achieving theatrical physicality.

Performance Project

The artist will dedicate one hour each day to collaborate with interested dancers, using the insights gained from the workshop to create a brief public presentation that showcases what they have learned.

Short bio

Lali Ayguadé, a prominent dancer and choreographer born in 1980, trained at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and P.A.R.T.S. Her career includes collaborations with Ñía Publik Eye, Akram Khan Company, Hofesh Shechter Company, and notable artists such as Marcos Morau, Roberto Olivan, and Akira Yoshida. In 2005, she co-created “Twice read” and later founded her company in Barcelona in 2013, producing acclaimed works like ‘Kokoro’ and ‘Hidden’. Her piece ‘RUNA’ won two awards at the 2023 Max Awards. Ayguadé has been recognized for her performances in collaborations and film, including ‘Timecode’, which won multiple awards. She’s also known for her contributions to dance education through workshops worldwide.
