SIC is an original and unique festival with a wide range of educational opportunities, from outstanding contemporary choreographers to folk and afro-contemporary dance.
Study in an international and inclusive environment and perform in one or more live performances or bring your artistic research and share it with other professionals and enthusiasts. Various moments of sharing and fun, as well as live performances by young and emerging artists and various site-specific evenings with other amazing artists!
The heart of the festival lies in the opportunity for participants to be selected for a paid residency: the “SIC RESIDENCY AWARD 2025”! In an age where nations build walls, we choose to build cultural and human bridges between countries. We believe that only through these connections can a nourishing peace be possible. For this reason, each year we select at least one non-Italian artist for the residency—offering international artists a chance to immerse themselves in Southern Italian culture, while giving the people of Lecce the opportunity to engage with voices from abroad.
All of this, in the beautiful city of Lecce in the middle of the landscape of Salento coast. Lecce, where the festival will take place, is considered like the "Florence of the South", renowned for its Baroque splendor and ancient roman relics. The historic center with its peculiarities; the golden limestone buildings, the winding streets of the old city, the delicate and elaborate carvings of the facades, a timeless masterpiece.
