Workshop description

READY FOR CREATIVITY
A story is always made of what we know and what we don't know.
I believe that instant composition is at once the most mysterious, the most fun, and also the most complex of the performing arts. Improvising live requires knowledge and mastery of all the rules of the stage and a remarkable ability to be in the moment.
It's necessary to listen in order to truly hear what is.
More than any other form of composition, instant composition has to do with becoming a medium for something that is already in the space. We just have to grasp it, and then, if ever, give it direction.
We will therefore first work on listening, to the body, the space, and the present. Trying to create space within ourselves to be able to welcome and interpret.
We will work on the ability to make decisions quickly and on how to train our ability to open and/or close the archive of experiences from which to draw in the creative act.
After awakening the senses and listening and having trained the speed with which to awaken our creativity, we will focus on sessions of instant composition lasting a few minutes each, dividing the space between stage and audience and working in groups, so as to learn both from practice and observation. We will work with simple and very strict scores before moving on to free group improvisation.
